Cultivating Empathy in Your Children

Confucius once said: “To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; we must cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.”    Parents certainly have had their challenges this year, there is something special about parents in all parts of the world give selflessly and with much sacrificing towards raising their children. When we recognize the blood, sweat, and tears that parents put into raising their children, we are reminded of a kinder, more welcoming society for the next generation of human beings to live in. However, as one can see from recent events that surround George Floyd, we are currently living in a not-so-friendly world. Considering this cultural upheaval, the Black Lives Matter Movement however has demonstrated the power of empathy. Digital images and videos have surfaced on social media platforms that show how humans are standing in solidarity calling for social and political reforms that combat systematic racism.
