Rest as a Necessary Kindness

This pandemic has given many of us a forced stop…much like when our computers are out of whack and we receive a message that says we’re shutting down…and in a few minutes everything seems to go dark.  Except that while our outer activities have been curtailed quite a bit, our inner lives are worry-rumbling and worry-grumbling about all our real and imagined effects this pandemic has made claim on us.  For some who traveled almost incessantly, yes, this forced stop has created islands of rest and reflection.  For others, this time has increased the amount of attention and focus with persons and animals  in the same household and suddenly we find ourselves overwhelmed with extra work and more concern. However, having a Spa day isn’t in the cards right now.
